Floyd
Valley Ethanol
OVERVIEW
In 2005 Baard commenced development of its Floyd Valley Ethanol
facility in Hinton, Iowa. The facility will have a capacity of
115 million gallons per year using approximately 39 million
bushels of corn per year. Floyd Valley Ethanol LLC (FVE) will
be able to produce and distribute corn ethanol to all major
markets in the US at a lower cost than almost all
competitors.
- FVE has
a meaningful cost advantage over most other plants both in
terms of access to corn and exceptional transportation links
through its direct access to 3 Class 1 Railroads and
excellent road access
- Key
permits are all in place;
COMPANY INTRODUCTION
FVE is a limited liability company, which is planning on
constructing and operating a 115.5 million gal/yr corn-based
dry mill denatured ethanol plant in Hinton, Iowa. FVE is
being developed by FCC, a large local farmer-owned consortium,
and Baard Renewables LLC, which has a successful track record
in developing ethanol projects. FVG, the largest storage and
merchandising company in the region will provide FVE with
access to 8.5 million bushels of grain storage.
COST ADVANTAGE
We believe FVE has a substantial cost advantage in production
and distribution and can deliver ethanol to all markets at
$0.06 to $0.36 per gallon less than most competitors,
including destination plants:
·
FVE will have a corn procurement advantage: it
enjoys one of the lowest corn bases in the US; it has buying
and storage advantages through its association with FVG; and
it has a large local excess of corn to draw upon

·
FVE is serviced by 3 Class 1 railroads (UP, BNSF,
CN/IC) and has unit train loading capabilities for ethanol,
DDGs and corn giving it the lowest cost rail transportation of
any ethanol plant in the Midwest for ethanol and DDGs, the
primary by-product
·
FVE is serviced by three Class 1 railroads and
can reach most markets directly and every major market with
only one switch
